Customer vision

When Sarah and her family began creating their holiday home at The Lakes by Yoo, they wanted every part of the project to complement the beautiful natural surroundings.

Their vision was for a swimming pool that felt completely at home within the lakeside landscape, offering a place to relax and spend time together.

Sarah also wanted the swimming water to feel as natural as the setting itself, with less reliance on conventional pool chemicals.

The Challenge

Building within The Lakes by Yoo presented several challenges.

Minimising disruption: With neighbouring properties used as luxury holiday homes, noise and construction activity needed careful consideration. A lengthy, disruptive build was far from ideal.

Restricted access: Getting materials, equipment and concrete into the working area required planning. Space was limited, making an efficient construction sequence particularly important.

The lakeside environment: With the pool situated close to the lake, the potential for rising water levels and groundwater had to be considered during construction.

Installation time: Reducing the time spent constructing the pool shell would help minimise the overall impact of the works.

This was a project where the method of construction mattered just as much as the finished appearance.

Our Solution

We used our ClipBlox reinforced concrete pool construction system to create the 10 × 4 metre shell.

The lightweight permanent shuttering allowed us to assemble the pool walls efficiently, reducing the amount of traditional formwork and blocklaying required on site.

By simplifying the shell construction process, we could reduce the number of operations needed in a restricted working area and limit the time spent on the structural build.

The reinforced concrete construction provided the robust shell required for a permanent tiled swimming pool, while careful consideration of the lakeside conditions informed the construction planning.

The pool was finished with tiles and incorporated the Fusion44x hydrogen-based water treatment system.

Finished Results

Today, the swimming pool sits naturally within the garden, looking as though it has always belonged there.

The finished pool combines a durable reinforced concrete structure, elegant tiled finishes and an innovative water treatment system.

More importantly, it has become a place where Sarah and her family can relax, unwind and enjoy time together in one of the country's most beautiful lakeside settings.
